Charlotte Steel
Hi, and welcome to my practice in the heart of the beautiful Chalke Valley.
Therapy offers a confidential space to talk openly, reflect on your experiences, and explore what's happening in your life without fear of judgment.
Unpacking emotional baggage means it's no longer a dead weight.
You may be struggling with difficult family relationships, feeling isolated, or emotionally drained. Perhaps you are carrying the impact of past experiences into adulthood.
Maybe friendships are changing or drifting. You may be experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, or simply feeling stuck at a crossroads, unsure which direction to take.
You may find yourself feeling unsettled by the current state of the world. Perhaps you are finding it hard to switch off from the constant flow of difficult news, or have worries about the future.
Therapy can help you make sense of what's happening for you and find a way forward.
While I work with adults facing a wide range of challenges, I have a particular interest in supporting women in midlife and later life who are navigating change, uncertainty, or a renewed search for meaning and direction.
Midlife can be a time of change, sometimes gradual, sometimes unexpected. You may find yourself feeling unsettled in ways that are hard to explain. Perhaps you’ve always coped, held things together, and been there for others, but now something feels different.
You might be:
-
Questioning who you are or what you want now
-
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally stretched
-
Facing changes in relationships, family roles, or work
-
Experiencing the emotional impact of menopause
-
Living with a quiet sense of “Is this it?”
Midlife often brings significant change. Children may become more independent, parents may need more support, relationships can shift, and careers may evolve. Alongside these changes, questions about identity, purpose, and what comes next often emerge.
This can feel confusing, especially if you’re used to managing and coping. For many women, this stage of life isn’t just about change, it’s about re-evaluating who you are and how you want to live.
You don’t need to arrive with a clear problem or the “right” words. We can begin wherever you are.
Together, we can:
-
Explore what’s behind the feelings you’re experiencing
-
Understand recurring patterns in relationships and life
-
Make sense of the impact of current life changes
-
Reconnect with yourself and what matters most to you now
My approach is gentle, supportive, and at your pace. There’s no pressure to be a certain way or to have everything figured out.
If something you've read here resonates with you, you're very welcome to get in touch. I offer an initial conversation where we can talk about what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels right for you.
Support animals are welcome!
